1. Undoubtedly, on New Year's Eve, all people expect miracles and happiness. The mood rises, even if the year was not entirely successful, the results are summed up, good and bad, it seems that everything on the planet is spinning in anticipation of the main holiday. And, as in childhood, people hope for a miracle.
It is about such feelings that the Russian comedy "The Milky Way" was filmed, which is released on big screens on New Year's Day. However, according to the plot, the beginning of the film sets the viewer up for a completely different mood. A married couple with two children seems to have exhausted all their happiness, which they achieve together. The people who were once closest to each other are getting closer to breaking up. It would seem that nothing can save their marriage. The husband, who was undoubtedly played by the best actor of theater and cinema in Russia, Sergei Bezrukov, packs up and goes to live in Moscow. And his wife, who was played by the equally outstanding Marina Alexandrova, leaves in Irkutsk, moreover, with two children together. However, on the eve of the most magical holiday of the year, the family gets together again. This is most likely the last time this will happen. And here, as it should be in the New Year, from the first of January begins an unexpected series of moments of sadness, joy, which radically correct the situation in the family. Unexpected meetings and breakups eventually lead the whole family to the island of Olkhon, where they realize their closeness and, most importantly, realize that they will never be able to live apart again. That close people like no one else can understand, listen and forgive each other everything.
A wonderful New Year's comedy gives the audience the feeling of happiness and hope for a wonderful future, which is so much needed in our time. A magnificent cast, which, in addition to the above-mentioned actors, includes many others, among whom, of course, Valentin Gaft stands apart. And the landscapes that are present in the movie are simply amazing. After all, the filming took place on Lake Baikal, the pride of our motherland.
Otherwise, this is a classic New Year's story, a little drawn out, a little tedious, sometimes boring, with a rather weak script. With all this, it is necessary to watch this movie with your family, especially if everything is not as good as you want.
